Position Overview:
The role is in the Portfolio Control team of the investment operations department responsible for all aspects related to fund operations oversight, fund administration, portfolio accounting, account onboarding/startup, tax reporting, market documentation and Proxy voting for client assets under management at Acadian Asset Management LLC.
Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week
What You’ll Do:
• Fund Oversight-– Oversee portfolio accounting, custody and the middle office functions. Ensure accuracy of market values and review performance. Foster strong relationships with custodians, middle office and brokers to ensure proper attention and maintenance of client accounts. Reconcile proxy voting reports and address inquiries from both external and internal parties.
• New Account Startup/onboarding– Prepare documentation to complete custodian welcome packages, complete internal system setups, and act as a liaison between stakeholders
• Fund Administration- Oversee fund payments, process invoices, set budgets, and handle daily accruals. Prepare regulatory, compliance, and tax filings; research and resolve breaches. Collaborate with external auditors and banks to finalize audited financial statements.
• Market Documentation – Responsible for opening markets for funds, maintaining all local market/compliance documentation throughout the life of the fund.
• Tax Reporting- Responsible for answering client inquiries regarding taxes, facilitate the K-1 and Canadian tax filings, Form 5500 and any other tax reporting.
• Operational Strategy- find strategic opportunities to reduce cost, add efficiency, and to add value to internally.
We’re Looking for Teammates With:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Economics preferred
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in the investment industry; Understanding of international market documentation, trading requirements, tax and audit principles, and account onboarding processes helpful
• Must be proficient in MS Office 365 with an emphasis on Excel
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
